It has been almost a month since I last blogged! What happened and where did the time go! I looked through the past entries and realized the last picture I posted of our meat chickens, they were just one week old. That was August 16. Now, 9 weeks later, the "peeps" are ready to go to the butcher. They have grown really well and should dress about 6lbs each- real roasters! I feed the birds corn and oats we grow ourselves that are herbicide and pesticide free. They have pasture to go outside where they can eat bugs, green grass and scratch in the dirt and last but not least, they also get grain purchased from Lakeview Organic Grain located in Penn Yan, NY. http://www.lakevieworganicgrain.com/
